Excited but kind of wary. The original director (Brenda Chapman, who did the story for The Lion King and co-directed The Prince of Egypt) was fired in a move that seemed to anger a lot of the women at Pixar and some older animation pros. And there was a review posted of a test screening of the new version and apparently it has some serious structural problems. I still want it to be good but I do wonder what could have been.
I really hope they'll be able to pull it off. An animated girl power story would be great, there's really not many of them around. Pretty much next to none, if you think about it.
Also, if it turns out to be faux feminism, or they manage to undermine their message with some stupid shit at the end, I will cry. Or more likely use a lot of swearwords at them.
